

What you e-mail will be confidential to our sessions. Information held on computers or hard copy is protected by the Data Protection Act. All hard copy files are kept in locked filing cabinets. Exceptions to confidentiality are as follows:
- if you say that you have committed a serious crime.
- if you give information which is judged to indicate risk to yourself or another person.
- if abuse against children is indicated.
In these circumstances you will be asked to agree to disclosure of the information to the relevant authorities in your country. If you do not agree, the decision to disclose anyhow may be taken, in the public interest. You will be informed of this decision should it have to be made.
This is in line with the Code of Practice of the British Psychological Society, Division of Clinical Psychology.
